MASTER'S THESIS

The Master's Thesis must be individual, original, of a research nature and must be written in accordance with the writing instructions posted on the website of each MSc.

Language of writing

The language of writing the master's thesis can be English or Greek and is defined together with the definition of the topic.

Changes to the title

The title of the thesis may be modified upon request of the student and with the consent of the supervisor to the MSc Coordinating Committee. The request must also include a brief justification for the change.

Supervisors of the Master's Thesis - Three-member Examination Committee

The Supervisor and the members of the three-member examination committee of the postgraduate diploma thesis are appointed from the following categories who have undertaken teaching work at the P.M.S.:

a) members of the Teaching and Research Staff, Special Educational Staff , Laboratory Teaching Staff and Special Technical Laboratory Staff  of the Department or other Departments of the NKUA or another Higher Educational Institution (HEI) or Higher Military Educational Institution (ASEI), with additional employment beyond their legal obligations, if the MSc has tuition fees,

b) Professors emeritus or retired members of the Faculty of the Department or other Departments of the University of Athens or another HEI,

c) associate professors,

d) visiting lecturers,

e) visiting professors or visiting researchers,

f) researchers and special functional scientists of research and technological bodies of article 13A of law 4310/2014 (A’ 258) or other research centers and institutes in Greece or abroad.

By decision of the SC, the supervision of theses may also be assigned to members of the Faculty of the Department, the Faculty of the Department, the Faculty of the Department and the Faculty of the Department, who have not undertaken teaching work in the Master’s degree program.

 

In order for the thesis to be approved, the student must defend it before the three-member examination committee.

Postgraduate theses, if approved by the examination committee, are mandatorily posted in the Digital Repository "PERGAMOS", in accordance with the decisions of the Senate of the National University of Athens.

If the thesis contains original unpublished results, it may, upon request of the supervisor, which is co-signed by the postgraduate student, be published on the website only the summaries, and the full text be published later.
